About the programme:

The programme could be right for you if:

  • you are aged 18 to 24-years-old
  • have a current Education, Health Care Plan (EHCP)
  • are ready to be onsite working for 3 days every week
  • you want to secure paid employment for at least 16 hours per week after the programme ends
  • you can travel to the site
  • you are ready to commit from September until June

What support is available?

Interns are supported by a job coach and tutor, who are based on-site all the time. Their role is to foster independence and confidence, enabling the interns to learn their tasks and to complete them to the same standard as everyone else. Interns will work directly with mentors in their working areas.

What does a typical day look like?

The exact timetable for each day will be confirmed when we match interns to their job rotations.

It will include an opportunity for interns to meet as a group, every day, for an hour for peer support, reflection and development of work skills and confidences. The remainder of each day will be spent in work rotation (with breaks). You will typically experience 3 different work rotations over the course of the internship programme.

You should expect to be at Chatsworth for 7 hours on each of the 3 programme days.
