Supported Internships are planned, work-based study programmes for 16- to 24-years-olds who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). The programmes of study are supported by an educational provider, and students are supported by a job coach. The Supported Internship is a full time educational course, designed to give students a taste of working life, whilst developing their confidence and work skills.

Supported Internship Campaign Video
Connected Futures in the East Midlands Combined County Authority has launched a campaign video aimed at raising awareness of Supported Internships as a pathway to meaningful, sustainable employment for young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The video features 8 amazing young adults, each filmed on their internship, and sharing what motivated them to take part in a Supported Internship; what a typical day is like; how it has impacted their career goals, and advice they would like to give to someone wanting to start a Supported Internship:
