Requests for temporary education support (OOST and TMP)

Schools and council services can apply to the Temporary Provision Panel by completing the Temporary Provision Panel Form found on My Derbyshire. We advise schools to sign up for an account. This means that you can log back in to check or update requests. If you already use the Inclusion Panel Form, this will be the same login details.

This form replaces the previous routes to request support from OOST (Out of School Tuition - for medical needs) and TMP (tailor-made programmes). The Panel meets weekly each Thursday during Derbyshire schools' term time.

Referrals must be from schools or council services only.

This is a pilot until December 2023. Feedback from schools and services will enable any changes to be made to the form, panel, or processes, in order to launch officially in January 2024.

Information for schools

Schools can apply for temporary education support for pupils who are unable to attend school for medical or other reasons. The child must be a Derbyshire resident. Where a pupil is on roll at a school in another local authority, the school may make a referral under Section 19 of the Education Act.

Information for services

Virtual School, Children Missing Education, SEND and other services may also make referrals for temporary education support.

Single Point of Referral

The Single Point of Referral and Temporary Provision Panel enables schools and services to ensure that children in Derbyshire receive their education entitlement. The panel may also signpost schools and services to other services or agencies who could offer alternative or additional advice and support.

All referrals to the Temporary Provision Panel must be made by a school or council service. Parents should be contacted before a referral is made. They must consent to the referral for support.
