Derbyshire County Council provides a range of support and guidance relating to travel and transport for children and young people with SEND. The council can organise transport for students who meet the requirements as set out in the following transport policies.
Both policies detail children and young people's entitlement to transport, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities who are Derbyshire residents.
Home to School Transport for children with Education Health & Care Plans (EHCP)
If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and you wish to refer your child for Home to School Transport, please complete the Home to School Transport Form. If you require any further support, please email sendtransport@derbyshire.gov.uk or you can also contact your local SEND Officer.
Home to School Transport for all other children
Derbyshire County Council provides further information about school transport, and about the available support if you are in receipt of benefits. If you require assistance with Home to School Transport, please complete the Application for Transport Assistance form.
