The Disability Partnership Forum is a bi-monthly network that brings together employers, supported employment services, local authorities, and partner organisations across Derbyshire to strengthen inclusive employment practice.
The forum focuses on practical action. It provides a space for employers and services to:
- Share best practice
- Learn from real examples of inclusive recruitment and workplace adjustments
- Build confidence in employing and supporting disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.
Each forum includes:
- Employer or partner showcases
- Short micro-training sessions
- Service and funding updates
- Opportunities for discussion and collaboration.
Topics are shaped by attendee feedback, ensuring sessions remain relevant, responsive, and useful in real-world settings.
A key aim of the forum is collaboration. By bringing together services, employers, and strategic partners, the forum supports joint working, clearer signposting, and shared problem-solving to improve employment opportunities and outcomes across the county.
The Disability Partnership Forum also celebrates progress, recognising inclusive employers and innovative projects, and sharing success stories to encourage wider adoption of inclusive employment practices.
The forum is open to employers, recruiters, supported employment professionals, and partner organisations who want to improve disability inclusion, learn from others, and take away ideas they can put into action.
To become a member, services and employers can contact EmployAble@derbyshire.gov.uk to express interest.
