Have your say on employment support for young people with SEND
Connected Futures East Midlands is inviting parents and carers, employers, education providers and employment support providers to take part in a series of online focus groups.
Connected Futures East Midlands is a programme that aims to create a system in which autistic young people and young people with a learning disability are better supported to prepare for, access and thrive in employment.
The programme is funded by Youth Futures Foundation and is currently being independently evaluated by Cordis Bright. The evaluation team would like to hear from a range of people and organisations to better understand current experiences, strengths, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
The focus groups will explore:
- Employment opportunities and barriers for autistic young people and young people with a learning disability
- Experiences and views of local support
- What is working well locally
- What changes could improve access to employment
Why take part?
Your insights will help the evaluation team understand how the local system currently supports autistic young people and young people with a learning disability as they move towards employment.
The evaluation will consider how organisations, services, policies, communities, families and young people work together, and identify opportunities to strengthen support and improve employment outcomes.
Participation is voluntary and you do not have to answer any questions you do not wish to. Information shared during the discussions will be treated confidentially and individuals will not be identified in any reports. With participants' consent, sessions will be recorded and professionally transcribed to support analysis.
