Children and young people eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals can take part in free Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions at Mount Cook Adventure Centre this summer. The programme offers outdoor adventure activities, healthy meals and opportunities to develop new skills in a supportive environment.
Participants can enjoy a range of exciting activities led by experienced instructors, including:
- Climbing
- Bushcraft
- zip wire activities
- land karts and high ropes
Healthy lunches are provided, and children are encouraged to learn about food preparation and healthy eating.
The sessions are available for children and young people from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related Free School Meals. Mount Cook's experienced team creates a safe, welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, learn new skills and make new friends whilst enjoying the outdoors.
The Holiday Activities and Food programme, known locally in Derbyshire as It's About Me, supports children from low-income families during the school holidays with enriching activities, nutritious meals and opportunities to stay active.

Daily Itinerary
We can host up to 20 people each day.
- 8:45am to 9:30am - Arrival
- 9:30am to 12:30pm - Outdoor activities and cooking themed games
- 12:30pm to 1:00pm - Lunch
- 1:00pm - Pick up
