Young people in Derbyshire with aspirations for paid employment are invited to discover a unique opportunity through the Project SEARCH Supported Internship @ Amazon East Midlands Airport EMA1, delivered in partnership with DFN Project SEARCH, Direct Education Business Partnership (DEBP), and Derbyshire Adult Community Education Services (DACES).

Parents, carers, and professionals are invited to join an online information session to learn more about the Amazon Supported Internship, including programme structure, eligibility, and the support available. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and discover how the programme can help young adults thrive in a supportive workplace.

To help you learn more about the programme, an online information session will be held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 19 November 2025, 2pm to 3pm.

What is DFN Project SEARCH?

DFN Project SEARCH is a nationally recognised supported internship programme for students with special educational needs. Interns complete their placements in real workplaces, receiving guidance from a dedicated job coach, tutor, and department mentor. The programme is designed to help young people transition successfully into adult life and move towards full-time, paid employment.

Amazon Supported Internship: Programme Overview

The Amazon Supported Internship at East Midlands Gateway Airport (EMA1) offers:

  • Valuable work experience in a dynamic, inclusive environment.
  • Skill-building opportunities tailored to future employment.
  • Comprehensive support from experienced staff throughout the internship.
