Palliative and Respite Care

Palliative and respite care services provide appropriate short breaks, end-of-life care, and support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as practical and emotional support for their families. These services include respite care, support for young adults up to 25 years of age, sibling support, and family support. Teams also provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support for children and young people, their parents or carers, and their siblings.

Children, young people and families living in Derby and Derbyshire can access the 2 children's hospices, Rainbows (Loughborough), and Bluebell Wood (Sheffield), The hospices provide an alternative to the support offered by Royal Derby and Chesterfield Royal Hospitals.

Glossop
