Information for parents
The current assessment nursery places will not operate from the end of the Spring term 2024. This method of assessing and supporting the inclusion of young children is changing. From April 2024 there will be an Outreach team in place.
The practitioners will work with children and staff in settings to support the inclusion of the children who have been referred. This includes assessing the child’s needs, but this is NOT the same as a statutory assessment of needs as part of an EHCNA process. This support is available to all children attending a Derbyshire Early Years setting if they meet the criteria for the interventions.
Information for settings
You will be able to refer children to the Outreach team for assessment and support with inclusion at a targeted level of the graduated response from the start of the summer term 2024. Please see EYSEN Outreach team for more information.
